Choose a workload measure
Workload can show task counts, hours, or capacity. Task counts are useful for a quick distribution check. Hours and capacity need effort estimates and working-time information.
Unestimated and unmeasured values are meaningful. They indicate which inputs you still need before treating a chart as a picture of available capacity.
Review effort and assignments
A task can have several assignees. Assignment effort profiles describe how work is distributed through time. Check those profiles when a simple even spread does not describe the work.
Use reassignment controls to make a deliberate change, then inspect the result. Assigning someone still requires appropriate sharing access.
Set working hours and exceptions
Review working hours and availability in Settings, including exceptions that affect the period you are planning. Compare capacity with the effort included in the current view.
Use the report’s scope and calculation explanation when interpreting totals. A filtered view can show a different slice of the same project.
