BIGGER PROJECTS

Add fields that fit your work

Use typed fields, numeric rollups, formulas, and conditional formatting.

Choose the right field type

Use custom fields when your project needs information beyond the standard task fields. Choose a type appropriate to the value, then give it a clear name.

Numeric child rollups are explicit. Review which children contribute and how missing values behave. Hiding a column changes presentation while preserving its values.

Preview a formula

Formulas use restricted deterministic expressions. Review the expression, inputs, and previewed output before relying on a calculated result.

A formula uses the values and calculation rules available to it. Invalid input and missing data should remain visible rather than being replaced with an invented result.

Change fields deliberately

Hiding, archiving, and removing a field are different actions. Read the removal preview for formula dependencies and the choice about retaining existing values.

Conditional formatting applies explicit rules to help you scan a view. Keep readable labels and values so color is an additional cue.

KEEP EXPLORING

Automate a step with a ruleUse explicit events, conditions, actions, and completion checks.
Build a schedule you can inspectUse hierarchy, dependencies, calendars, and previewed schedule changes.
Look across plans and report on progressUse plan sets, roadmaps, Insights, and saved reports with the right context.
