WORKING TOGETHER

Keep the conversation beside the work

Use task and plan discussions, mentions, replies, and optional direct messages.

Choose the right conversation

Use a task discussion for questions and decisions about that task. Use the plan discussion when the context applies to the wider project. Readers see the conversation they are authorized to access.

Commenters, Editors, and Owners can participate according to their role. Viewers have read access. Replies and reactions help keep a conversation connected without changing task status.

Follow updates that matter

Mention a person who already has the appropriate access. Mentions can notify a participant but never grant access to private work.

Use unread counts, thread following, and Inbox to find updates. Review notification preferences if a conversation is too noisy or a channel is unavailable.

Direct messages and message history

Direct messages are optional and use requests. Accept a request when you want to open that conversation.

Your own messages can be edited while you retain sufficient access. Message edits keep a history. Task Activity is separate: it records changes to the work itself.
